For many years Disney has been giving us excitement and entertainment via television and movies. Most every child and adult can easily recognize Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, and there are very few little girls today that don’t love to dress like a princess. So, when you are considering a family vacation, it is only natural that at least a fleeting thought goes to Disney World or Disneyland. These two parks, after all, epitomize the essence of Walt Disney himself. However, often the thought of going to Disney is short-lived when we consider the budget for our coming vacation. Could it be that there are truly affordable ways to visit these attractions? Stay tuned and you just might be surprised!

If you really want to go to Disney, the first stop may be the internet. Spontaneous trips to Disney are probably not going to be too inexpensive, but if you do some planning, you can find some great deals online. There are tons of websites with tons of ways to save. All you have to do is put a little time into it.

Another place to start is with a Disney vacation planner. These are people who are do nothing but work to save people money. If you start online and get some ideas, you can then talk to these agents knowing what is a good deal and what is not. Do a lot of comparison shopping so that you know you got the best price.

One way to save money on reservations at and around Disney is to go when everyone else isn’t there! If you and your family can go when the resorts aren’t packed out (in other words not during the summer or spring break) you can get some great deals on rooms.

Choosing a hotel in the area rather than a resort is also ideal. There are some great hotels nearby that are quite comfortable and affordable. No need to spend the extra money just to say you went to a resort! Again, checking online will tell you which hotels have good ratings and which you need to stay away from.

Naturally, eating in the park itself can be horribly overpriced. There are lots of ways to get around this. Most of them depend on timing and lots of planning, but if you are really on a budget you can do it. Eating a big breakfast before you come may be the best way to save money. It seems pretty easy, but the fact is a large meal in the morning can save you a ton of money when you are at Disney.

You should also be aware that many of the souvenirs--you know, those that your children can’t live without--are cheaper elsewhere. Shop the area stores and you will find many of the same things you find in the park but with a much better price tag. Again, it just takes a little planning.

These are some simple ways to save money, but there are many more. The trick to really getting out for the least money while going to Disney is to plan, plan, plan. Find the best ticket prices, the best hotel prices, and the best packages. Do your research so that when you set off for your vacation you won’t go broke, but you will have a great time. And don’t forget to say hello to Mickey!

Take Lots Of Photos!

While you are at Disney, make sure you take lots of photos so that you can look back on the wonderful times you had and never forget the special times you enjoyed at either Disney World or Disneyland.

You might also like to consider creating a Disney scrapbook as a momento of your vacation. It's a great way to relive those precious moments. Why not get your family involved too so everyone's perspective is featured in your album.

Creating a scrapbook is easy. All you need is a few basic supplies like a scrapbook album, some papers, Disney stickers and perhaps some rub-ons. Then you can sit back and have fun as you create a tribute to your family vacation.
