Decorating for a party with princesses is relatively easy. Pastels are the key to this kind of party. Dainty things with flowers and pretty girly themes can be a relatively painless addition. Of course, the easiest way of decorating is to run to the nearest party store and simply get plates, napkins and centerpieces that have those well-known princesses on them.
Probably the most important part of a princess party are the girls. Little girls generally love to dress like princesses, so when you send out the invitations you just let them know that is exactly how they are to dress when they come to your party. Your little girl will welcome a ton of royalty to her party, and you will be the hero. If you are really wanting to take on a bit more expense and planning, you could also have a big trunk filled with princess attire and allow each of the girls to add a little something to their outfits. Boas, wands, and tiaras can be great fun to play with and they make ideal party favors.
If your little one has a lot of friends who are boys, you might want to open your party up to other kinds of royalty. Boys don’t often go around in princely garb, but inviting super heroes can be a lot of fun. Another option is to ask the boys to be knights. This keeps the theme and makes the party have a co-ed approach. Give those knights some toy horses to ride and you never know what fun you will have!
For a party with all princesses, you might want to consider having a tea theme. Tea parties are still a fun activity for those little girls, so a real live tea party with her friends can be a great time. The food at a tea party is easy to prepare. Small sandwiches or cookies are really all you need.
There are tons of ways to make a princess party special. Cater it to your little girls likes and dislikes and you will find that this can be one of the easiest and most memorable parties she will ever have. Of course, in the midst of throwing a party, don’t forget to sit back and have a good time yourself. Your little one won’t be little long. Take time to soak in the memories, take lots of pictures and enjoy.
Oh, one last thing, After the party is over, you don’t want to forget to make a princess scrapbook. Your daughter will love looking back over her party with you, and it might just be a bonding time. Let her help with the stickers and decorations. Let this birthday be one that neither of you will ever forget!
